THE SNUTS are four young musicians from West Lothian, Scotland who write and perform anthemic indie rock, drawing comparisons with early Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon and Oasis.
Already a cult sensation in their Scottish homeland, THE SNUTS have built their burgeoning reputation on the road, with shows growing in scale and style since they sold-out their first headline date at Glasgow’s King Tut’s (250 cap.) at the tail end of 2017.
Spending much of 2018 spreading their riotous rock ‘n’ roll gospel further afield, with a succession of major festival performances including Reading & Leeds, Benicàssim, TRNSMT and Belladrum, their final show of the year was another sell out, at SWG3 in Glasgow (1,300 cap.) which inspired a frenzied audience reaction and mass singalongs.
In between all this live activity, THE SNUTS released their first 'proper' singles, ‘Seasons’ and ‘Manhattan Project’, after early demos became a viral hit and exceeded a million plays on Spotify, all achieved organically without being promoted to radio, playlists or press.
‘Seasons'’ striking central guitar riff echoes a who’s who of Brit indie greats, while frontman Jack Cochrane’s lead vocals bristle with character and power. In addition to pure attitude however, ‘Seasons’ also possesses a melancholy edge that demonstrates their potential to fill much larger stages.
‘Manhattan Project’ explodes into life with a collision of serrated riffs, energising drum fills and charismatic vocals from frontman Jack Cochrane which blend emotion and aggression in equal measure.
Currently writing and recording new material for release this year, THE SNUTS are now looking to take their ragged rock ‘n’ roll manifesto to a wider audience in 2019.
THE SNUTS are Jack Cochrane (vocals / guitar), Joe McGillveray (guitar), Callum ‘29’ Wilson (bass) and Jordan ‘Joko’ Mackay (drums).
